Casamia's Bristol

One more post for today as I think I've caught up on my findings since the last post in September...

Last night I treated my lovely boyfriend and took him to the exclusive, Casamia Restuarant in Bristol. This is the same place that won Gordon Ramsey's Italian restaurant of the year 2010, I even recognised two of the chefs and couldnt help but giggle and whisper 'its him off the tele!!'

We were certainly well looked after and dinned on a 5 course menu. There was picked vegetables, wildboar salami in a cage (natuarally), salmon in a box covered in caviar... a pigs cheak that bore a close resemblance to a beetroot... hake, apple and basil juice that really looked like something out of George's Marvelous Medicine and chocolate tart with lemon sorbet. We even got a goodie bag to take home, upon reciept of which I let out a happy little squeel! Haha.
I would recommend this place, it is pricey but definately an experience!

...More beards!!

I've found more, check out these winter warmers.
These 'face cosies' are made by Vik Prjonsdottir, they have a unique collection of blankets and body warmers (think snuggies for trendies).

I bloody love a good beard

I forced my boyfriend to grow a beard because they are sexy and rugged. They can also be cute and comical as you can see below...

Depeapa does beards!

They have a little etsy shop full of her beautiful illistrations on everything from tops to bags and badges.

Can you keep a secret?...

My best friend in the world is Kirsty and at the minute she's like a broken record, albeit a very beautiful and fun one!... Every other word that comes out of her mouth is ''wedding'' (thats if she's not talking about her other favourite thing - babies!)
She's neither engaged nor pregnant but longs for both. I'm sure she'll soon get her wish but it's fun to play along with her until then.

I came across a great blog today called Bridal Musings (link to follow) which, when the time comes has given me lots of ideas for Kirsty's bridal shower. Look how much fun this looks!!

Silly story of the day...

Tthe jist of it is... man eats lots of porrige, steals his kids food, feels guilty, craves booze, decides it is totally undo-able and is miserable. Once week is over takes his wife out, buys rounds of drinks and lives like a king. This is an impossible task...

Today I want beautiful hair

Today I woke up totally fixated on making my hair perfect... between the battle of my hair and curly comb, hair unfortunately conquered and I left the house looking pretty fluffy.

It's up in a pony now but really, I just wanted to come up with the perfect style that would give me that extra boost of confidence (be it only four people at the office who will actually see me today..) So... I've decided to post some of the lovely hair styles available to us frustrated ladies who need a little inspiration on those days where we're just not feeling love for the locks.

Her work is absolutely beautiful and can be seen in editorial layouts, typography, icon and logo design...
Penelope's work makes me want to practice my drawing skills! I love the very trendy, earthy colours which are also very seasonal!

Favourite thing ever...

I will learn how to make these one day! These felted woodland creatures are made by a Russian artisit called
Victor Dubrovsky. My favourite is the frightened black cat. He reminds me of my own cat Fonzie and has so much personality!

Whilst trying to find inspiration for my new nephews nursery I stumbled upon something I didnt know exsisted... shadow art and so had to share. It must take forever to create these!

Dream House

Sometimes I get this little itch when I walk into my house and think 'urgh I'm bored of this, what can I doooo?' Today I came across the beautiful house of Emily Henson - an interior stylist from LA. I love her effortless style and basic walls with splashes of colour from the accessories and textiles.
My mum and I cleared my room of all my pink and rosey things to make way for new, more mature and contempory bits. Penny.
My favourite room is the living room. Its gorgeous, grey, green and hints of red and pink really work well together.

I can't wait to change my room. I really want a case of butterflies and some mirrored furniture. I love the frames above from Sanctuary a creative space in Denmark.

I could go for this right now...

Right off to bed, but had to share this first... Monday night drinks Nicky? Recipe from Cosy Kitchen.
Penny.

Ingredients:
• 3 scoops vanilla ice cream (or non-fat frozen yogurt)
• 1 tablespoon milk (or non-fat milk)
• I large dollop of plain yogurt (greek yogurt can be a healthy option)
• 5 Kraft Jumbo Jef-Puffed marshmallows
• Whipped cream
Toast marshamllows under a broiler, or, if you’re frisky, over a flame until they just start to blacken evenly (the trick is to make sure it’s evenly toasted and dark, but not turned to charcoal). Put the milk, yogurt, and then ice cream in the blender. Blend carefully, just until you get a “donut”—when you see the shake holding to the sides of the blender with a hollow core. Add three of the toasted marshmallows to the blender, and whirl it just until they’re all broken up and distributed evenly. Be careful not to overblend it, making it too melty. Pour shake into a glass, top with a dollop of whipped cream, break the last two marshmallows on top, and serve with an extra-wide straw.
Wedding season is well and truely here! Today I stumbled across the best invites invented ever. Penny.
